Privacy Policy

Your data stays yours.

Last updated: March 2026

The short version: AI Watchman collects nothing. Your Claude and Codex session credentials are stored entirely on your own devices within Apple's secure App Group container. No data is ever sent to our servers — because there are no servers.

Information We Collect

AI Watchman does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. The only data the app handles are the session credentials (cookies) required to query the Claude API on your behalf. These are:

  • Your Claude sessionKey cookie — used to authenticate API requests
  • Your Claude lastActiveOrg cookie — used to identify your organization

These credentials are captured automatically when you sign in through the in-app browser and are written only to an Apple App Group shared container on your device.

How Your Data Is Used

Your credentials are used for one purpose only: making authenticated requests to the Claude and Codex APIs to retrieve your current usage statistics. These requests are made directly from your device to the respective servers — AI Watchman is never in the middle.

Usage data (your percentage consumed, time to reset) is displayed within the app, on your Apple Watch, and in your home screen widgets. It is never logged, analyzed, or stored beyond what is displayed on screen.

Data Storage & Security

All credentials are stored in an Apple App Group container — a secure, sandboxed storage mechanism shared only between AI Watchman's own app targets (iPhone app, Apple Watch app, widget extension, and Live Activities). This storage is:

  • Isolated from all other apps on your device
  • Protected by iOS's built-in data protection
  • Never backed up to iCloud or any external service
  • Deleted when you uninstall AI Watchman

Cross-Device Sync

When syncing credentials from your iPhone to your Apple Watch, AI Watchman uses Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This communication travels over the encrypted, device-to-device channel Apple provides — it does not pass through any external server or network endpoint controlled by AI Watchman.

Third-Party Services

AI Watchman interacts with two external services: the Anthropic Claude API and the OpenAI Codex API. When the app fetches your usage data, your device sends a request directly to those services' infrastructure using your session credentials. These interactions are governed by Anthropic's and OpenAI's own privacy policies and terms of service, not ours.

AI Watchman has no affiliation with Anthropic or OpenAI and is not endorsed by either.

Analytics & Tracking

AI Watchman contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services, no advertising frameworks, and no third-party tracking of any kind. There is no account system, no sign-up, and no way for us to identify individual users.

Children's Privacy

AI Watchman is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app requires an active Claude subscription, which itself requires the user to be of appropriate age per Anthropic's terms.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of AI Watchman after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
